Fethiye are home to an uncountable diversity of natural and historic places of interest. For this reason we recommend that visitors see the FETAV region guide and/or the existing abundant literature (the region has been very well documented by both Turkish and foreign travelers and researchers in several languages) for detailed information on the region. From Pastoral Vadi it is possible to reach canyons, beaches and several typical Aegean-mediterranean villages on foot, arriving and returning within one day. Other options include visiting the artisans of the hand-woven “dastar” rug in Uzumlu (15-20 km) or the nomads who live in kara tents 25 km away; or, depending on the season one can attend the cherry festival in Nif.The area has a typical Meditteranean climate; the winter months are mild (0-10 C) and rainy while in summer the average temperatures range from 30-35 C. In the straits where Pastoral Vadi is situated, spring is long and accompanied by the cool breeze that in fact blows in every season.
